Freddie, or Fred as he known to the Cumbrian people, also has been attached to the Cumberland and Westmorland Herald, based at Penrith for thirty one years. The Cumberland and Westmorland Herald has a circulation of 18,474 which covers all of the Eden Valley, Keswick, Borrowdale and Bassenthwaite. The Cumberland and Westmorland Herald is now in its 149th year and is based in Penrith Cumbria and in 2010 the newspaper will celebrate its 150th anniversary. Frederick Cameron Wilson must have had many thousands of pictures published in the Cumberland and Westmorland Herald over thirty one years. He''s in his element driving around Cumbria with his milage amounting to 30,000 miles each year, taking in the views and photographing events. He knows very well that without the Cumbrian people organising events throughout the years he would be out of a job. He has kept working dogs, Springer spaniels, Labradors and Gordon setters for most of his life, with his experience he knows just when to capture that perfect picture of any pet or working animal, so photographing livestock at agricultural shows and on farms is a labour of love. Frederick Cameron Wilson uses the latest digital cameras, the first Nikon D1 was purchased in March 2000 along with Mac computers. Since then technology has come along way with the latest Nikon D3 released to the market in January 2008. Pictures can be computer-processed and e-mailed anywhere in the world in a matter of minutes, a far cry from using film and darkroom methods.
